| EXTREME TALKING POINT | ~ FrostBite 3 Won't Be Supported on Wii U Because That's What EA Wants

EA - You still mad? Looks like there's more to the story as to why Battlefield 4 won't be coming to the Wii U. Here's what I think - EA ~ Stop Being Butthurt

"...we have a strong partnership with Nintendo"
The words above were spoken by an EA sports representative, when the announcement that the upcoming Madden 25 Years game that's being developed by EA Sports will be missing Wii U.  Yes, that's what he said, when announcing that they wouldn't  be bringing the game to the console. Makes sense, right?

Now, as of the time this article was written - a DICE director is now giving further explanation why another EA-made game, Battlefield 4, will also be skipping Nintendo's new home console, after it was confirmed earlier this year that the game would be missing from the Wii U.

According to "Johan Anderson" - the guys over at the EA-owned company, DICE, have never bothered to get the FrostBite3 engine running on the Nintendo Wii U, because they ran some tests with the engine's predecessor FrostBite2 and apparently things didn't go very well. Now, that has some folks laughing, seeing how the Wii U is supposed to be a next-gen system. But here's what I don't get:

  • They're bringing Battlefield 4 to the PS3 and 360 - both of which are nearly a decade old and are weaker than the Nintendo Wii U.
  • They have the Frostbite 2 engine running quite fine on the aforementioned decade-old systems - which are, once again, WEAKER than the Wii U.
  • Criterion - another EA-owned company, got their latest project - Need for Speed Most Wanted running on the Wii U, with visuals and a framerate that outmatch the PS3 and 360 versions and look comparable to the PC.
  • Crytek - another EA-owned company, got their latest project - Crysis 3 - up and running on the Wii U, which runs on the CryEngine3 - which is supposedly more advanced than FrostBite3.
  • Another development company - Precursor Games - is building their new game - Shadow Of The Eternals -  with the CryENGINE.
  • (Biggest One) ~ EA talked about bringing Battlefield during Nintendo's E3 2011 press conference - using the Frostbite engine.
Alright then. We have all those points listed above, so here's the bottom line in my eyes:

Frostbite3 isn't being supported on the Wii U, not because of lacklustre test results with Frostbite2, but because EA is STILL angry over the whole Origin fiasco. At E3 2011, they seemed to be bringing out all the guns on the Nintendo Wii U. Now, they're just shrugging the Wii U and Nintendo off like an immature little kid. It's hard not to think otherwise, honestly.
